MODINT - DIGITAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT FOR THE FASHION INDUSTRY
One of the main objectives of CLICKNL is to increase the number of companies in the creative industry branches that participate in innovation-oriented projects and partnerships. The MIT Innovation Brokers scheme is a response to this. This yielded beautiful cases and results! Here, we look at the case of Modint: Digital product development for the fashion industry.
Are you curious whether digital product development is already feasible and whether it actually saves time? Would you like to see exactly how to develop clothing on the screen and how to apply pattern and construction techniques digitally? These questions were central to the Digital Product Development workshops of March 2019.
The workshops
The workshop focused on body measurements, body scans and choosing a 'fit Avatar' that suits your target group. Digital clothing models were developed, which were fitted to the Avatar.
Because this quickly provides insight into style and fit, it is already being used by many companies and adoption is expected to increase rapidly. This technology saves a huge amount of time and relieves pressure on teams, suppliers and the environment.
So, how did it go?
In the workshop, companies focused in groups on the possibilities of deploying new software in design, model development and pattern creation.
This turned out to have major consequences for the working method and organisation in the company! The workshops were discussed and compared individual cases per company. After that, companies mainly started working on internal organisation.
