Beton-Lab tested its sustainable concrete by placing a hopscotch on the grounds of the Utrecht Liberation Festival.

As many as twenty billion tons of concrete are produced worldwide every year. That's because it's cheap and strong, and you can mold it into any shape you want. The downside is that concrete consists of cement. Cement production accounts for about 8% of all CO2 emissions worldwide; this makes the industry one of the largest polluters. That is why Beton-Lab developed cement-free 3D wall tiles, which cause 76% less CO2 emissions than ordinary concrete.

At the Liberation Festival Utrecht, Beton-Lab made a hopscotch with different types of its concrete tiles. At the end of the day, only one hopscotch tile was broken. This literally and figuratively brought the entrepreneurs one step closer to the perfect composition of their sustainable concrete.
