LONG-TERM EFFECTS OF THE IDOLS* PROGRAMME
Within the IDOLS* programme, ten consortia (temporary partnerships), consisting of problem owners on the one hand and contractors from the cultural and creative sectors on the other, worked together to tackle a social challenge. The main aim of this programme was to grow the labour market for the cultural and creative industries, and to promote social innovation with social impact.
A year after IDOLS’ end, there are still consortia partners who work together and several projects have continued to develop. To assess the long-term value and ‘leverage’ of the IDOLS programme, it is necessary to conduct a follow-up study. This study aims to better map the (direct and indirect) effects of the IDOLS approach. The research question is: What value has the IDOLS programme delivered after the formal end of the programme? In other words, what is the programme’s ‘spillover’? What effects (such as collaborations, innovation implementations, commissioning) did the programme initiate that probably would not have occurred without IDOLS?
AIM
This study aims to better map the (direct and indirect) effects of the IDOLS approach in the longer term. This project provides added value for CLICKNL because it makes explicit the conditions under which products and services developed by the cultural and creative industries can be successfully implemented for social challenges.
SET-UP
This study will be conducted through qualitative interviews with one key stakeholder per project, i.e., a participant who has played a key role in and after the project and who has a lot of knowledge of how the project has developed.
