Society faces complex societal challenges that require innovative answers and solutions. These solutions require a combination of diverse knowledge, experiences and expertise. Cooperation between applied research and the cultural and creative sector can contribute to the development of such solutions.

With the regulation Artistic and Design Research Regieorgaan SIA and the Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie focus on the professionalization and quality enhancement of practice-based artistic and design research by universities of applied sciences and the creative industry. Within this grant scheme, universities of applied sciences and cultural institutions can jointly apply for funding.

Cultural and Creative Sector Pilot Program.

The regulation Artistic and Design Research is part of the pilot program Cultural and Creative Sector. This is a pilot program of Regieorgaan SIA, the Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie and the Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie. The aim of this pilot program is to explore how the knowledge base of the cultural and creative sector for the benefit of broader societal challenges can be sustainably strengthened through practice-based research.
