Call: exploring the impact of AI on the cultural sector
DEN will start an exploration on AI for and with the cultural sector in February. Would you like to think along about the use of artificial intelligence for and by culture? Have your say during one of the meetings.
Why this exploration?
For a very long time, Artificial Intelligence (AI) was a vague promise of the future from Silicon Valley. Partly due to the launch of Chat GPT a year ago, that promise quickly took on concrete forms. In all kinds of sectors, people and organizations are discovering and developing new applications of AI.
The promise of AI is also great in the cultural sector. From indexing and analyzing heritage collections, to increasing accessibility of cultural offerings and optimizing business operations. In all parts of cultural organizations, AI has potential added value. At the same time, there are risks and downsides to using AI. For example, when it comes to preserving creative professions and the impact of AI on copyright and privacy.
As a driver of digital transformation in the cultural sector, DEN is conducting an exploration of the impact and meaning of AI for the cultural sector in the coming period. Among other things, DEN will use the results of this exploration to determine what support needs there are in the sector in the field of AI and what role DEN can play in this.
By and for the cultural sector: have your say
DEN is doing the exploration for and with the cultural sector. Together with cultural organizations, makers, students and other sector organizations, they are trying to answer the question: what will the impact of AI be on the cultural sector and how can DEN best support the sector? DEN is looking for people from the cultural sector who want to contribute to this exploration. You do not need to have a lot of knowledge or experience with AI, but some basic knowledge is useful. The meetings will be guided by consultants from Wielinq.

- Meeting 2 on February 22 (14.30 - 16.30) in Eindhoven. Theme: Exploring value for the future.
- Meeting 3 on March 7 (14.30 - 16.30) in The Hague. Thema: Behoefte aan ondersteuning.
