In order to make design interventions count, it isn’t always enough to think about the end user. Sometimes the intervention also has implications for the system, and is able to initiates changes on a higher level. The questions arise what you as a designer have to think about and can do, but also who you should talk to.
How do we design future living environments in which we feel at home? And what does our future ideal look like? When you (co-)design a new, futureproof neighbourhood, it’s not only bricks and glass you have to think about, but also the expectations of the future inhabitants, their habits, their culture and the feeling of belonging.
There are still many linear designed items circulating in our economy. How can we make those items retain value, even though their shape or even function changes? What are viable options to work and design for?
The digital and physical worlds are becoming increasingly intertwined - and while they sometimes reinforce each other, they also raise questions and uncertainty. Consider, for example, ethics, privacy and transparency, but also opportunities with the data we leave behind.
DRIVE celebrates its 10th anniversary! For that we are joining forces with CreativeNL for CreativeNL Live. The afternoon part includes a strong content programme, matchmaking sessions and a buffet. We will kick off the evening programme with an inspiring keynote to move on to a big party including live music and drinks!
From October 23 to 27, we are back in the Effenaar (Eindhoven) for inspiring talks (DRIVE Live) and cool work sessions (DRIVE Works) during Dutch Design Week. We bring you inspiring examples of knowledge and innovation in and for the creative industry.
Like other years, every DRIVE day focuses on a major social theme. Talks and work sessions are centered around these themes. The last DRIVE day (October 27) will be a little different this year: we will celebrate DRIVE's 10th anniversary with a big party, and you are invited!
DRIVE is organized by CLICKNL and 4TU.Design United, and is an English-language festival.
