Design for sustainability: past and future

  • CIRCULAR SOCIETY

  • TALK

Awareness of environmental challenges is not new, but over the past half century the understanding of their complexity has skyrocketed. Nevertheless, though problem solving professionals have been getting ever more involved, design strategy development has remained virtually the same. This justifies the question if our set of current assumptions underlying circularity is right and complete enough. It will be discussed with champion eco-designers of two generations in the areas of mobility and furniture design.
